Amareshwara Temple is located at Aurad, Karnataka. About 2 kms from Aurad Main Bus Stand and 43 km from Bidar, Sri Amareshwara temple is located in the heart of Aurad Town. It is devoted to Lord Amareswara, this temple was built in 10th century. There are two Gaja Laxmis at the entrance of the temple. Lord Amareshwara of Aurad was the saint from heaven, who has performed endless meditation for God prior to 10th Century. There was a huge forest and an anthill that was buildup around him, the present temple was built by the devotees of Lord Amareshwara. The 12th century inscription was found in Amareshwar Temple which denotes that a 15 Ghale land nearby Dodda Betta towards west had been donated to Lord Amareshwar for the development of Amareshwar Temple.
